I'm not talking about Melodic Death Metal, I'm talking about plain ol', simple Death Metal. Melodic Death Metal and Death Metal are different, since Melodic Death Metal is a much more "softer" sub-genre of Death Metal.
I'm talking about bands like Cannibal Corpse, Death, Possessed, Deicide, etc.
I'm NOT talking about bands like Amon Amarth, Heaven Shall Burn, The Black Dahlia Murder, etc. because we all know they are MELODIC DEATH METAL, and are mentioned in the thread about melodeath bands, so please don't re-recommend those to me, because you already did in that thread.
Technical Death Metal bands can be allowed for recommendation in this thread, but I no longer have an interest in Deathcore. Just for your information.
How do you feel about tech death? That is one of my favorite subgenres, though it can be hard to find sometimes. The Faceless is a great band (their latest album, Autotheism, is a bit different from tehir previous stuff, so check out that album and Planetary Duality). Hour of Penance, Fleshgod Apocalypse, Hypocrisy, Necrophagist, Obscura, are all other tech death bands worth checking out.
As far as regular death metal, these bands might be something that you are interested in: Cattle Decapitation, Defeated Sanity, Dying Fetus, Gorgasm, Bloodbath, Prostitute Disfigurement, Septicflesh, The Monolith Deathcult,
P.s. All of these bands are from memory (my memory is fairly crappy and I like most types of metal, so I might have mixed up some of the subgenres of the bands, but they are worth a look regardless).
I don't know what the official name for it is, but it's cleanly recorded death metal as apposed to the lower quality stuff (studio recording wise)

Behemoth is Blackened death metal, but still good, although their new album (which has gabriel blow you trumpets on it) is death metal mostly apparantly

Cytotoxin are another clean recording band

Classic Death metal band Deicide

Cerebral Bore are brutal death metal but still good, and the fact that these vocals are pulled off by a woman is amazing!
I won't be quite as helpful in this thread as I'm not too into straight death metal. I will say that Symbolic and Individual Thought Patterns by Death are two of the best death metal albums in existence. Terminate Damnation from Mortification is good too. If we're talking technical death metal, check out Suffocation, Nile, Necrophagist, Atheist, Pestilence etc. Nocturnus is really good atmospheric death metal.
