The funny part is they're selling VHS tapes of it.
Yeah don't be put off by the cheesy appearance it's an amusing film and a bit refreshing from the norm.
I've been meaning to watch this for a while... haven't gotten around to it.
All my extra time is spent editing photos (catching up) and playing factorio.
Its a cool movie, I like the fact that everyone is using BMX bikes as the basis of transportation. LOL
I'm up for it but it old and used content.
Even Mr Robot is Fight Club mixed with nerd and made TV series.
I need a explosion to wake me from my info engorged state of being. I can pirate and consume anything ever made and now I am bored :(
Watched Hardcore Henry? If that doesn't tickle you pink you're a lot cause!
I wanted to like Turbo Kid, but I didn't and now I think I know why.
The real 1980's movies had a goofy innocence partially because they didn't know that in a few years we would be groaning at how bad they were. They were fun despite being dumb.
Turbo Kid is well aware that it is shoving '80s nostalgia down the audiences throat with a funnel and a plunger. Combine that with an ultra-violent mean spirited vibe, a predictable plot and acting that is supposed to be ironically bad, the movie ends up being just bad.
This is pretty much what I was going to say.
It is really good, watched it awhile ago. Super fun movie
The first movie I wanted to watch at 140hz on my PC :)
Just finished watching it, great fun movie. Thanks for the heads up, never spotted it on iTunes before.
Well of course I had to watch it again now and it was just good the second time. Some of the violence didn't add anything and ends up looking a bit crap but easy to ignore.
I am really enjoying Stranger Things on Netflix.
A kid in 1980's Indiana gets abducted. It feels like Stephen King made by Stephen Spielberg.
Spot on. I've seen it when it was first released. And I didn't even think about it until I saw this topic. Such a forgettable movie. They may as well stop with trying to relive the 80's. It isn't working. You can't copy something like that. "Stranger Things" just tried to do the same and IMO it failed because it's all over the place. It tried to combine all the popular 80's genres and Spielberg nostalgia into one package.
Surprised no one mentions Kung Fury in terms of 80's style movies.
