i7 2700K 4.5 Ghz OC

Sup,

So i finally managed to get my 2700k to 4.5Ghz on the Gigabyte Z77X-UD5H(i had P8Z77-V before which had problems with the onboard sound) (1.36v) i get the max temp of around 65-71c and the MT score in cinebench is 8.76. Here are some of the details of the bios settings:

Turbo:Disabled (Is it supposed to run on 4.5 all the time if i disable this? Because it still goes below sometimes but is on 4.5 most of the time)

PLL:Enabled

HT:Enabled

Voltage Response: Fast

XMP:Disabled (Memory running at 2133Mhz)

BLCK:100

Multiplier:45

PWM Phase Control:Balanced( I had it on High Performance but i don't know what exactly makes it go to almost 70+ c)

Vcore LC:High

CPU Vtt LC:High

You are getting 4.5 with 1.28v not bad. I will have to try this myself I have a similar setup of sp 120s in push pull on my hyper 212 evo. I am currently running the voltage on auto.

Unfortunatley, I do not tthink you will be able to push 5.5ghz from a h70. :( 4.5 is still pretty good. But I'm not much of an overclocker so my advice would be to look on youtube for tutorials maybe???

Also what are you using to check your temps because speedfan, coretemp, and real temp all have different temps for my core temps. So I am not sure which ones to base my temps off of.

Well i tried a few different programs but right now im suing piriform's speccy.

I am going to try 1.28 v because auto use over 1.3 on full load.

The lower the better if it goes to high your cpu will fry :D(not literary but higher voltage=higher temps)

I just tryed a 1.28 v overclock at 4.5 and according to cpu-z it is 1.296.

Then at full load it is using 1.36.

What temps are you getting?

When using 4.5 at full load I was getting high 60s for my cores and my cpu tempurate was around 55c.

Also that is with hyperthreading on.

Pretty good.
