i3 Overclocking, is it possible?

I recently bought a Lenovo B50-80 (U3E1) with the following specs:

  • Intel Core i3 @ 1.70GHz Haswell ULT 22nm Technology

  • Generic PnP Monitor (1366x768@60Hz) Intel HD Graphics Family (Lenovo)

I upgraded the RAM to 16GB (DDR3 @ 798MHz) and installed an SSD (223GB ADATA) but I want to (if possible) bump the 1.7 to 2.0, is it possible? if so how?

if anything can be done you should be able to do it with intel XTU.

It's got a locked multiplier, and your BIOS won't allow for overclocking of the BCLK.

Short answer is no
Long answer is slightly XMP will overclock slightly with some ram and on some motherboards you can get the Turbo speed all the time. But that's about it haswell non K parts are completely locked down

You might be able to get a small overclock through software, like setFSB. But it's been years since I've used that, so don't quote me in that.

When i did use it though, i got my old turion x2 from 1.6ghz to 1.8ghz. Nothing crazy, but better than nothing.
