Hpe gen 10 PCIe Bifurcation Adapter

hello, i’m new to the forms . and I’ve ran out of ideas -so I’ve been using a HPE micro server that i made in 2019 as a truenas server and i wanted to add some space to it ,but i have ran in to the problem of not being able to get bifurcation to work.

i have a spliter but only one port will work at a time , i have went to the BIOS and changed it form auto to Bifurcate ( i’m using a external power supply to provide the 12v needed for the adapter
If i switch the cards between the slots they each work fine but not together , i went about double checking the cables and connections but no luck. Any ideas were to go from here?

HPE ProLiant Gen10 Plus v2 E-2314 MicroServer

Quad-Core, 32GB RAM

[LSI 9305-16e HBA] to a netapp NAJ-1001 with 24 900gb netapp drives (all new)

QNAP QM2-2P10G1TB Dual M.2 2280 PCIe NVMe SSD & 10GbE Expansion Card

PCIe 5.0 x16 to MCIO 8i SFF-TA-1016 to X8 X8 Bifurcation Adapter Riser Card US

UP DATE no real luck yet, itemperairly move to a hp gen 6 micro server to get al the drives formatted and set up zfs pools. if i can get it figured out i will be moving it back to the hpe gen 10 for major performance benefits , and the newer machine being my main nas

In the BIOS, change the PCIe slot split mode from Auto to Manual and set it to x8/x8, then connect the two devices.

it seams that in the Bios it only give 2 options AUTO and BIFURCATE
i have went thru the menus and haven’t found a 8x8 or 4x4x4x4 option
i did find some old documentation that said it only supported full or 8x8
But i would like to thank you for the help
