HPE DL380p Gen8 Secondary riser

Hi everyone,

I’ve been for a while looking to getting the secondary riser and was never able to find it.

Just today, it came to me that both the opening on the back of the chassis and PCI slot, etc is identical to the primary riser.

Does this mean that both risers are identical?
(please only reply if you are sure, I don’t want o risk burning a motherboard by trial and error)

Thanks.

Should be part 662524-001 and 662525-001.

Hey,

Thank you very much for the doc, couldn’t find it for the life of me.

So, since it says “Riser Boards”, it means they are the same on slot 1 or 2 correct?

Does that mean I can technically have 2 x 662524-001 (3-slot PCIe riser board (standard) - Includes one x16 slot, and two x8 slots) ?

Thank you

I would not have found it hadn’t someone pointed me to it. HP(E) is a dumpster fire on the documentation front.

No clue.
There probably is an installation manual somewhere™ to answer that.

It seems like they are.

There was a link in that part page to the overview of all documents for this server: https://support.hpe.com/hpesc/public/docDisplay?docLocale=en_US&docId=c05062109

I’ve checked a lot of the documents and in no moment they seem to distinguish when can you or not use each Riser boards.

The only riser that seems to have restrictions is the “PCI riser cage” used for GPUs, where it can have size constraints.

Since I’m finding the 662524-001 for like 30 bucks, I will order it and try it.

Thanks for the help.
