HP buys HyperX Gaming brand from Kingston

It looks like HP gaming PCs’ included peripherals are going to be getting a slight upgrade in the future. I imagine some products will get an Omen branded variant to help create a slightly more premium image, but we’ll see. Kingston’s still retaining the HyperX branding for all memory/storage products.

Or HyperX’s peripherals are going to get a downgrade. I can imagine HP caring more about the bottom line than Kingston did, so the beancounters will likely demand cheaper parts be used.

I expect to see the existing line get wound up within the year and new lines come out, that way there is no way to directly compare the quality.

Had my hands on an Omen Keyboard in store once.

I’ve had bad experiences with consumer grade HP stuff so I guess HyperX might get a quality downgrade.

The only good experience I got was from the late 90s printers. Later printers werent so good and laptops were even worse.
