How Would I Apply a Patch to Gnome Shell?

A Gnome developer was kind enough to fix all the issues with the magnifier on Gnome Shell. I just need to test the patch. Problem is I have never applied an actual patch before lol. I've just modified files and stuff like that. Here's the patch:

https://bug752138.bugzilla-attachments.gnome.org/attachment.cgi?id=308092&action=diff&collapsed=&context=patch&format=raw&headers=1

If anyone does read the bug, I will note I got pretty pissed off. I find the bug to be major and ruin functionality. I was so frustrated that one of the developers linked me to the Code of Conduct lol.

The patch needs to be applied here:

a/js/ui/magnifier.js

Bump

Would gnome-devel have these commits already? Is it as easy as installing that packages? I'm fine running the development version of Gnome. I end up running a lot of development software anyway.

Download source, apply using patch, recompile and install
