How to test for Intel 13/14th gen CPU degradation

My gaming PC has an Intel 13700k. About a month ago I noticed some graphical artifacts in my browser. I initially assumed it was a driver issue, but now I am concerned that it due to CPU degradation.

Question:
Is there a good test suit to run to identify failing Intel 13/14th gen CPUs? Ideally simple instructions would be very helpful as I don’t have experience with PC hardware testing/validation.

Graphical artifacting would generally be not-a-CPU-problem, unless you’re using the onboard graphics.

That may be true, but I still want to test my CPU because Intel 13th/14th gen have a known failure issue.

first. update your bios.

second,
maybe try y-cruncher, but use hwinfo64 to keep an eye on temps

can post your hwinfo64 report and cpuz screenshots here if you want?

if you have an nvidia gpu installing the nvidia gpu driver can also trigger the type of instability that often pops up, weirdly

Before following your suggestions, had my second BSOD this week

I flashed from 0411 to 1661 and loaded factory defaults.

y_cruncher.CSV.txt (281.1 KB)

that’s good it made it 3 mins

do the stability test option and let it run continuously for an hour or so

As an Intel shareholder, I wonder how long before its stocks plummet because of this. I don’t understand how they haven’t already tanked. Sorry if this is a little offtopic.

I believe Intel will not do anything until ARL release. Whey want to confirm bad news about 13/14 gen while being on positive wave of new CPU’s release to reduce damage.

I have had 3 CPUs I suspect have degraded. the only consistent tests are installing Nvidia drivers gives us a 7Zip CRC error. Has anyone else found any good clues?
Under volting the bios boost clocks does fix 1 of them but for how long…

I wouldn’t rule out the CPU, but try to run a memtest. I only had RAM fail on me once and crashing on zip/rar/7zip was the most common symptom I ran into. You may have better luck with an RMA on the memory (luckily I had lifetime). If you’ve overclocking or even if using the XMP profiles that should work w/your memory, it may be causing you some stability issues. Sometimes a stick will go bad.
