Hi there,
I really need to find a way to disable Desktop Composition in the Windows 10 DWM.
Why?
I have an issue with running dual monitors with 165Hz and 60Hz while the 165Hz has G-Sync. This issue is causing my main monitor to lock at 60FPS/Hz when there is any animation going on on the 60Hz monitor.
I narrowed this issue down to the Windows 10 DWM - specifically Desktop Composition.
However, unlike on Windows 7 where it could be easily disabled, there is no such option in Windows 10.
I think in control pannel, System, advanced system settings, you have a bunch of animation options, and I think one of them is composition.
the other option would be using a high contrast theme which has no composition.
Nope, this option is there only on Windows 7. Since Windows 8 it is gone.
Well, that is why I am asking here. I know that forcing to disable entire DWM fixes my problem, but it creates several more
heya do you think that high contrast will totally disable the Desktop composition in Windows 10? thanks mr slow-bro :3
