How to add Cold Cathodes?

Hey everyone,

So I'm hoping to add some new CCFL's to my case, here are the ones I bought:

 http://www.ebay.ca/itm/300839031016?ssPageName=STRK:MEWNX:IT&_trksid=p3984.m1497.l2649

I got them about a week ago and they work great

So ya if any of you ever plan on buying them from the retailer, they work just fine.

Installing them, however, is the difficult part for me.

The only came with (as you can see in the ad) a positive and negative wire. The inverter requires a 12V insert:

I have a CM storm stryker case, I tried to attach these leads to the 2pin LED case connectors so I could control them from my case. It worked. So I unplugged them and when I replugged them in again, my case's LED button (controls on/off function of LED's) no longer works. The stock LED case fans on my case have since lost half their brightness, and are always on, whenever I replug my wires to the CCFL's, all the lights turn off. (case fan controller and case fans function perfectly fine though, its just the lighting that I fucked up.

Anyways, I had them working in the pictures because I simply plugged them into a 12v power supply to test the rest of them. I'll be selling the ones I don't want.

all that said, is there a way to power the lights via the cases interior / PSU? I read something about molex adaptors but I don't know what ones I'd need given the two wires I have.

Any help is appreciated.

PSU = Corsair HX650 Gold

I'm sorry to have to say that you should have gotten led lighting. Led's are a lot esayer to work with. here is a video to demo how to set up case lighting. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=W0MocdWDVqw

you will just have to hide the dc to ac converters behind the drive bays.

Its Ok bud

I figured it out!  (I'm sure most people already know this, so don't spoil the moment for me)

When powering a 12 volt Cold Cathode, I tried to attach the inverter to the LED 2pin from the case, I must have short circuited the wires or something, which is why my LED's are acting funny.

To make the CCFL's work (but not controllable via LED switch on computer), I needed to connect the positive to the 12V side of the molex, and the black (negative) wire to the ground

what I'm going to do is buy a set of these:

And simply use the 12V (red) wire and splice the wires, should be fun aha.

you could probably use a slew of diferrent 'types' of wires, I likely don't need that specific type (male to two females?) you can probably use a PCI to male molex aswell, but I have a lot of females in my case, so these should do perfectly.
