How to achieve user-friendly NSA-proof Privacy

Yes, another NSA topic, but I think it's worth thinking and talking about it. By know it is common knowledge that the NSA, and other governments, have a foot in the door of a lot of internet-traffic and the likes. Lesser known to the public is how deep they are in to supposedly secure protocols and maybe even hardware itself such as random number generators. This is a serious issue.

I am a firm believer in the right to privacy for everyone, especially in terms of communication, and the right to have access to technology and the internet. Right now there seems to be no way on earth to have all of those, at least not for the masses. I believe that democracy is at risk when a government is capable of knowing it's people's ideas before they want them to be public. A government is there to help the people, not to control them, in any way.

Conclusion: the balance is off and it should be fixed. In order to set things straight we could force the government to change. But because the world is not just we(the public, hackers, modders,...) have to start our own initiative.

To fix the situation there needs to be a system, a collection of methods, software and hardware that ensures the basic privacy of everyone. It needs to be accessible to everyone by being REALLY easy to make/buy/... It should have some form of networking capability.

Encryption is very useful, but everything is crackable in the end. How can absolute security be achieved? A system that is completely open source from hardware to software so people know what it does? What are your thoughts? Let the discussion begin!
