How much will Cisco certs cost me? I think i'm gonna get some Cisco certs like qain (spelling?) suggested, just got a new job and am wondering how much i should start saving. Also where do i get them? on line? in person?
Looking forward to the server, enterprise and pro-sumer videos!!! Also might i suggest a video called "Linux sucks 2014". OH yeah would love to read qain's networking book if he ever completes it.
Try danscourses on YouTube. Loads of Cisco stuff. Get smPlayer, save the videos to your hard drive, learn all you can, then take your Cisco exams. You've nothing to lose.
Nooo. CCNA is like $500 I think when I attempted mine. It may be only $300, I don't remember. But it was no more than $500 or $600, certainly not $3,000.
The ICDN Books 1 and 2 books on Amazon are like the "official" books with everything in them. $30 will get you everything you need to know. Albeit, they are VERY dense. Youtube videos and everything will help put the jargon into perspective. It is my understanding that certs beyond the CCNA like the CCNP or CCIE require a combination of materials and experience. There is no flat study guide for a CCNP or higher. At least that is how it was four years ago when I was still doing tech support. Hope it helps!
is it possible to try and find any web site on online with practice test or test to give me an idea of how hard it is? I have some base knowledge and experience to work off of. However there lots of things i have to learn yet.
Also thanks for then names of the tests/certs that helps out a lot it's been a week or 2 but, i'm not kain mentioned the certs by name but, by the sounds of it the ones you listed are the big ones.
EDIT: I also have some servers of my own that i play with. Along with a domain and dynamic ip service. i'm a raid array and a UPS away from having the real deal. :)
