I've been thinking and thinking and now that Christmas is coming around I would really like to build my own PC. How does this look? I wanted to keep it inexpensive as to not break the bank but I also wanted it to pack a good punch for new games and upcoming games. I'm also looking for something solid for programming, coding, hacking, running virtual machines, the whole lot.

I think everything there looks fine and I recenetly built a computer very similar, although I would recommend 8gb of Samsung's ram. Its the same price and is 1600mhz instead of 1333. I have it in my computer and I think it is great. Just a recomendation.

How similar and how does it preform? But thank you, I did not realize it was 1333!

My Build (Kinda Similar):

CPU: i5-3570k @ 4.2 Ghz

Mobo: Asrock Z77 extreme 4

Memory:  2 x SAMSUNG 8GB (2 x 4GB) 240-Pin DDR3 SDRAM DDR3 1600 (PC3 12800) Desktop Memory Model MV-3V4G3D/US

Graphics Card: galaxy Geforce 660 Ti GC 3GB

Storage: Samsung 830 Series MZ-7PC128B/WW 128 SSD and 1TB Samsung Spinpoint 7200 RPM

PSU: COOLMAX ZU-900B (900W)

Case: Sentey Optimus Extreme Divisino Tower Case

I haven't done much benchmarking but here are the benchmarks from PCPartPicker: http://pcpartpicker.com/parts/partlist/benchmarks/

Playing Borderlands 2 on highest settings i got like 120 FPS, on Minecraft on lowest setting and max fps i was averaging 1600 fps

I think its fast and i never seem to be waiting EVER, so i love it. But the total for mine was like 1000$ probably because of the graphics card that wasn't on sale.

Nice! Thank you very much. Also, do you know much about sound cards?

for basically same price go with corsair vengence low profile 1600 with heat spreaders and better latency, one of the most reliable names in memory. http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16820233186 just lookin out for your best interest

Thank you sir
