How do I make my HDD my primary drive?

Basically, I want to send all my downloads and files to my 1tb drive instead of my 60gb SSD automatically. Is there anyway to do this on windows 7 Pro? Do I have to make it the primary hard drive or is there a way to set it up so I all files go to it directly? And if so how?
