How do AMD Rewards work?

Hi,

I want to give these games away but am afraid if i click redeem it will add just add the game to my steam account and rather than give me the code. Anyone know how it works?

I can’t remember what occurred the last time I redeemed a game via the AMD Rewards I received.

I wanna say I got a Steam key emailed to me to then redeem on the Steam Client, but can’t say for sure.

Well they can’t auto-redeem it on steam for you without having a link to your account, so you should be able to click that button and see what it does, and just back out if it asks you for steam login info. If you don’t want to risk that, probably need to try contacting customer support and asking them.

Yeah, I tried it one year ago for a friend, I build AMD system for. For me it worked like this:

  1. I had to send a email to my vendor which was enrolled in the AMD program with a copy of the invoice.
  2. I received an “AMD code” for the game from my vendor
  3. I think I had to create a AMD account
  4. I had to punch the AMD code into a registration program (running on the PC) to verify the hardware as genuine AMD product. The steam key should be send to my email-adress according to the instructions in the program.
  5. ??? Registration never worked. It either was stuck at identify the hardware, or I was stuck with a blank window. This was on a fresh bare metal Windows install with the latest drivers. After 1h, trying another install, reinstalling the registration program and trying other drivers I gave up.

When you’re giving away games, it’s important not to click “Redeem” unless you want to claim the game for yourself. If the game was purchased as a gift or part of a bundle, there’s usually an option to generate a key or gift link that you can share with others. If you’re unsure, check the platform’s FAQs or contact their support to confirm how to retrieve a transferable code or link without automatically adding the game to your account. This way, you can ensure the game goes to the intended recipient without issues.
