I want to set up Android-x86 6.0 r3 in a VM inside Windows on my i5-4300U based ultrabook with 8 GB of RAM. So far I'm having the best experience with VMWare Player 12.5 - notably touchscreen passthrough works well and performance is far superior to VirtualBox and Hyper-V.
The only issue remaining is the one of screen resolution. Specifically, I want to set it to 1080p but when I try to use vga=871 (1920x1080x32) in GRUB startup options I'm getting a list of supported video modes that doesn't extend to Full HD:
So there goes my question - how can I set this resolution?
