I recently built a pc and from some time I’m having some white dots on screen when i move the mouse. I’m using ASRock taichi 9070xt(using 12vhpwr connector). I thought my graphics card was faulty so I borrowed a 9060xt from friend to troubleshoot the problem, it still exists. I have checked with a different monitor and connection (dp and hdmi).
I think somebody complained of some weird graphical errors on cachy the other day here. Have you tried a live usb of something else? It would help rule out the hardware.
Do any other distro(s) give off the same misbehaviour? [Live test / fresh install alike]
Does the white trailoffs, also occur under BIOS?
Test off, the iGPU
Assess all component seating [CPU, RAM, peripherals]
Hi,
Really sorry for getting back after a long time, in the mean time i reseated memory and the CPU. 7700x has igpu i tried using that the white trails still appear in the OS. This issue started on Arch that’s why I installed cachyOS. The white dots do not appear in the bios/uefi or even when gaming. Thanks for the help still don’t understand what to do. All pc parts are new and in warranty.
Is it another case of ASRock mb killing the cpu? I have inspected the CPU and the socket they both look fine no burn marks no damage to socket. There’s a recent post on the forum with kinda same issue. do you guys think i should Rma the mb and cpu? and get a different cpu and mb?
If that was the issue you wouldn’t have boot. What OCCT’s telling you is core 0 isn’t stable, but it’s unclear if this is at stock or if PBO, curve offsets, or other modifications are applied. If it’s at defaults and you’re confident LGA overpressure isn’t an issue because the socket and cooler are correctly torqued, contact’s unobstructed, and the board’s planar, then RMA seems reasonable. If not, revert, check torques, and retest. I’d also pull off XMP/EXPO or other DDR changes applied.
