Help with wireless bridge?

First of i'm not sure if i'm in the correct subforum... If i'm not please move me there.

So basically my router died and bought a new one, Comes to find out that the linksys router I bought(http://www.pcrichard.com/catalog/catalog-product.jsp?prodId=E900&cm_mmc=pla-_-NA-_-NA-_-NA&utm_medium=cse&utm_source=GoogleBase&KPID=E900) doesn't support wireless bridging natively so I had to add ddwrt to the router. I followed the tutorial correctly(I think) and I can get the connection to broadcast in my room but get no internet connection! Any help will be appreciated!!

If any more info is needed to fix this let me know and I will tell it to you.

Thanks,

Kyle H.

I need more info, ps if OpenWRT is an option its better and you should totally use it

You said you followed the basic tutorial which is a piece of SHI* in my opinion

Now do you have the client bridge set to forward the IP and DNS info to the main bridge or not? PS this can be better done through DNSmasq but it can be done through the online GUI (GOO EEEE).

The IP address should not conflict. Make sure that the client bridge is not in the Ip adress range for DHCP on the main bridges network... example.. 192.168.1.1 has a range from x.x.x.2-55 and you set the client bridge to 192.168.1.2.. Also make sure the same is applied on the client Basically set the range to higher numbers

Also CAN you ping the main bridge throught he client bridge.. If not then we know its the client that has the issue and we can go from there.. If you can then its another issue.

You will want to enable the WDS (wireless distribution system since you are probably using multiple devices on the client bridge

If most everything is working.. Try a manual static setup

(PS in DD-WRT v24 SP1 the DHCP and DNS bridged functions are buggy and often dont work

If you set up the client bridge to look for the specific main router IP adress then it should route through... You can also set its DNS to Open DNS

Pri 208.67.220.220

Sec 208.67.222.222

This could resolve DNS query issues
