Hey all,
So i have an old laptop that I need to get around a password,
I have been using the Offline NT/2000/XP/Vista/7 Password Changer,
I keep getting stuck at the PCI probing
the excact line of code is
pci 0000:00:1e.0.0bridge window [mem0xc0000000-0xc3ffffff pref]
any ideas?
try booting xp mode and use one of the tools in the giant menu of stuff, or see if there is a newer version of hirens. I don't want to tell you to mess with the BIOS settings or start pulling parts out of it.
You might also try the 'OSK password reset'
Do you need any data off the laptop? If not, boot with a USB live linux and use gparted to format the hdd
Hi, yea i do need data off the admin user... so i cant format it

Try kon boot disk. It will by pass the password and allow youbto ise your computer as long as its not encrypted.
I have a old version the parted magic linux livecd (you can download here ) and the password reset tool helped several times.
Here is a step by step how to reset windows account passwords.
http://www.hirensbootcd.org/resetting-windows-password/
You can use linux (live usb) to reset the password, if using Hiren's boot CD ends in failure.
You should be able to navigate to your windows\system32 folder.
Find sethc (It's the Sticky keys )
Make a backup of the sethc.exe (put it wherever you can find it)
Rename it to cmd
boot into windows
press the shift key a few times and the command prompt should appear.
Type " net user [username] * " (No quotes)
You should be prompted to change your password. (you won't see your characters typed, but they're there. )
I believe you should be able to log in now.
Also, I would go ahead and change Sethc.exe back from cmd
Why do I get a 403 error when I try to type in the batch commands?
EDIT: Or actually its c-m-d.e-x-e (spelt normally)
Use the pre-formatted text option (the button that looks like ), it will prevent that from happening.
Can't boot from Hirenboot, which got me a black screen. UUkeys windows password recovery performs much better than Hirenboot for password reset . just tested it out on my windows 10 pc.
