Help for new pc upgrade

Ok so i went through newegg and looked for good pc components to upgrade my current pc.  Along with some choices i had questions. My chosen parts are:

I already have an OS (Windows 7 Ultimate) and a hard drive and case. I have a limit of 900$ as my budget so any recommendations given could help.

As for questions

  • What is the performance difference between dual and quad cores
  • Will i require a wifi card or something like that to connect to the internet wirelessly?
  • Will having an a8 differ in graphics output even though i am using a discrete graphics card?

Thanks in advance.

In games that require more CPU Horse Power you will notice the difference between a quad core and a dual core. Since you are going with a dedicated GPU you might as well get a Athlon 750K or 760K. If you want wifi, any USB or PCI-E WNA will work. Using a Ethernet Cable plugged directly into the motherboard is preferred though.(Here is a link to some PCI-E Wireless Network Adapters LINK)

You could possibly go for an R9 270 or greater an R9 280/GTX 770

Parts with R9 280X: LINK

Parts with GTX 770: LINK

I might get some flack for suggesting the GTX770 or R9 280X with the Athlon 760K so here is an i5 build LINK

Hey thanks for the links with different pricing ranges

+1.  The 760k should be fine with the GTX 770, but I would just get an i5 and GTX 760.  Just personal preference to have a strong CPU.

Well it's really dependent on the game, of course. But yes, it would work great on a lot of games.

Would this do?

CPU: AMD FX-6300 3.5GHz 6-Core Processor ($119.99 @ Newegg)
CPU Cooler: Cooler Master Hyper TX3 54.8 CFM Sleeve Bearing CPU Cooler
Motherboard: Gigabyte GA-970A-UD3P ATX AM3+ Motherboard ($74.99 @ Newegg)
Memory: Corsair Vengeance 8GB (2 x 4GB) DDR3-1600 Memory ($87.99 @ Newegg)
Video Card: MSI Radeon R9 280 3GB TWIN FROZR Video Card ($200.00 @ Newegg)
Case: Thermaltake Versa H21 Window ATX Mid Tower Case ($39.99 @ Newegg)
Power Supply: EVGA 500W 80+ Bronze Certified ATX Power Supply ($39.99 @ Newegg)
Wireless Network Adapter: Rosewill RNWD-N1501UB 802.11b/g/n USB 2.0 Wi-Fi Adapter ($8.99 @ Newegg)
Total: $571.94

The system looks very balanced. I have no experience with the FX line or the 9XX chipset but the motherboard has an 8+2 power phase design should be able to handle the 6 core no problem. Maybe spend a little more for the Hyper 212 EVO since it has no spaces between the copper heat pipes and has 4 copper heat pipes opposed to 3 on the TX3.

Would this be a better Pc build?

Looks pretty good to me

And also the same as the one you posted earlier.
