Headsup: Windows driver update for AMD systems SCSIAdapter - 9.3.0.221 making systems unbootable

Previously: https://www.windowslatest.com/2021/05/08/amd-scsiadapter-9-3-0-221-update-is-crashing-windows-10-pcs

So nice they did it twice: https://reddit.com/r/Amd/comments/ne8se2/unbootable_system_amd_scsiadapter_930221_is_back/

So the driver we love so much that near bricked our systems a week ago is back on Windows update and has auto installed again.

If you’re currently sitting on “pending install” you can “pause updates”. If it is “pending restart”, you need to roll back the raid driver under storage controllers in device manager.

Well that’s going to be “fun”. Thanks for the heads-up, I need to check that updates are paused.

Just about two months ago people had problems with an update and printers (Windows 10 emergency updates released to fix printing crashes - BTW, the fix didn’t work they had to rescind it and re-do it.)… now this (and apparently twice). What the hell is Microsoft doing anymore?

Seriously the only thing saving Microsoft’s butt right is game developers.

If you get stuck with the driver installed and boot to a black screen it’s a relatively easy fix.

Boot with a Win 10 USB installer, choose to repair installation, and profit

I’m sure there are more in-depth walk throughs, but that’s pretty much all I had to do.
