HDMI Cable length for tv

I’ve got a 3060Ti in my pc. About 10-12ft away is my Sony 4K/60 TV. I was wondering if I need a powered hdmi cable for that length? Te other issue is the cable would actually need to be around 16-20ft due to a half-length wall to go around.

Nobody has an idea?

I would probably get something like this: https://www.newegg.com/black-club3d-32-8-ft-hdmi-cables/p/1DK-00B9-00001

However, with longer runs you do run the risk of stuff being buggy from my experience.

“You can get HDMI 2.0 cables that reach around 15ft from reputable manufacturers like Cable Matters. HDMI 2.1 cables tend to only reach around 10ft at most.”

Should be good with 2.0 cable at 4k/60

No problem for a decent quality HDMI cable. You can also use an HDMI active repeater to link 2 shorter cables.

Thanks. I figured it would probably be ok.

Here’s another thought. How would I have the tv connected and be able to switch to it without having to reach behind the pc to swap cables every time? I currently have a 4 monitor setup at my desk. I’m thinking some kind of hdmi switcher but would that degrade the signal before traveling a 20ft cable?

I mean any connection will lower signal quality unless it has a repeater in it. Since its only 4k/60 probably not that big of a deal.
