I’ve been waiting for the HDMI 2.1 KVM to get back in stock, as I previously concluded it would be the best fit for my setup. I have a Work Lenovo laptopn in a thunderbolt dock, with displayport an dhdmi output, a long with my desktop pc with a rtx 3070 (soon to be 50xx).
So I could go for either the displayport 1.4 or hdmi 2.1 kvm.
As I understand it, the HDMI 2.1 KVM will support higher bandwith than the DP 1.4, so it seem like the one.
I am also looking to buy the LG ultragear 45GX950A-B. The max resolution listed in the specs for this monitor is 5120 x 2160 at 165hZ with HDMI 2.1 or DP 2.1…
I read that the HDMI 2.1 KVM supports the following resolutions:
- 7680x4320@60Hz ( 4:4:4 )
- 5120 x 2880 @ 60Hz (4:4:4)
- 5120 x 1440 @ 120Hz (4:4:4)
- 3840 x 2160 @ 144Hz (4:4:4)
- 3840 x 2160 @ 120Hz (4:4:4)
What could i expect for a 5120 x 2160 resolution? Have tried looking around in the forum for a clear answer, but i couldnt find one for the 2.1 HDMI model.
I dont know much about DSC, but for higher refresh rate, im all in for it, not sure if my hardware supports it, but i would expect it did (for the desktop and monitor at least. )
