HD7700 and EN8600GT for 2 monitors

Hello again forum,

my question today is can I run AMD's HD7700 and Nvidia's 8600 on the same machine without too much driver trouble? my MB is an ASUS P5KR and i have a 600W PSU.

the main goal is to run two monitors from them. I know both cards have the ability to run at least 2 monitors on their own but i don't want to trade performance for extra real estate, and i just happen to have the 8600 sitting in a box not doing anything. i know the 8600 can do SLI  but the 7700 can't, and even if it could - that's not what i'm going for. my main monitor that's hooked up to my 7700 right now is a W2453TQ (24'') and what i plan on using for the 8600 is an old ~14'' LCD screen that i got from an office clearing.

so my main concern are the drivers, and when (if) i get them to run together, what hiccups can i expect? also, is there anything particularly useful i can do with this setup - like dedicate each card for something particular and have them crunch through textures and stuff faster? i will only be using the big screen for gaming/programs/etc. and put misc. programs like chats and monitoring on the smaller screen.

is there any useful piece of software that will help me manage this abomination? and since i'm new to having two monitors, what can i expect in terms of programs flipping out and not knowing which screen to go on?

unless you plan on gaming on both screens (which you shouldn't) the extra resolution will put next to no load on the card

i have no intention on using both monitors at the same time for gaming, as having half of the image spread across 24 inches and the other half shoved into 14 inches would look retarded. what i'm trying to do is not have to alt-tab out of the game in order to answer in chat or look at what my temperatures are.

that's what i figured (i have the same setup), i'm saying the second screen won't be taking up any gpu power
