Hardware changes in windows 10

I found a chat log about a hardware change with windows 10. I will say I have no Idea if this is true or not. This is a bunch of screen shots of a chat session with one of the tech supports at Microsoft. If this is true I would agree with the first thing he says in the second image and the last thing in the last.

NOTE: I was not the guy talking to them.

An interesting link, but get rid of the click bait title. If everyone named topics 'Very Informative', 'OMG, you will not believe this', 'Holy God, Why have they done this' etc, no one would find anything.

Anyway, as for the actual point of this topic, I think that is awful if true. If the Windows owner has an OEM copy of windows, then that is fair enough, but obviously this shouldn't be the case for those that have the full retail version. Without any information though, this is just here-say. I'd like to see more than a screen on imgur.. someone must have tried this already, surely.

An OEM Windows key has always been tied to your motherboard, thats nothing new and its been this way. That key is a one time use, not reusable. You can use that key to activate on that motherboard infinitely many times as far as I know, but it is tied to that motherboard. I was told a long time ago when asking about tranfering keys that it is possible to transfer a key from an hp to another hp, so it might be possible to transfer a key activated on an Asus Z97-A to an Asus Z97 Sabertooth, or from any Brand to another board from the Same Brand.

Fixed.

Outsourcing FTW

well to a point this is correct, when reinstalling windows ~ with different hardware might be problem if you use your "upgraded" win7/8 key. (especially now, since i'm sure not all win10 infrastructure was deployed.)

But once you have system installed and change the hardware like cpu/gpu etc it won't matter.
That guy wanted you to buy win10 - simple as that is...

Whats important they have no way to enforce it for Pro users, if you follow win7 pro update to win10. You will have to call MS and tell them to deactivate the old license, as you reinstalled your system. [same way it is today with win7/8] ~ you won't loose your license if you change gpu/cpu (mobo might be problem)
