H100 Or Havik 140?

Hey there, i've almost finshed my build all but for the cooler. Right now im looking at the H100 and the Havik 140, witch cooler would be best with my case and specs im looking to overclock the 3570k

Case NZXT Phanton

Mobo Asus Maximus V Formula

CPU Intel core i5 3570k

Ram 8GB DDR3 1600mhz

HDDS: Kingston 240GB HyperX 3K SSD, 2TB 7200rpm data drive

GPU GTX 680 2GB (soon to add another for sli)

Depends on how much you want to overclock. Personally, I'm partial to air cooling still, and it seems the Havik has a better bang for the buck, though the H100 is definitely a better performer under load.

Im after witch ever will keep at the lowest temps overall

H100

Yeah, I'd go for the H100.... Although... They are coming out with new closed loop CPU coolers that you can also attach your GPU to it to, if you buy more tubes and things. But I have no idea howv that is going to work.

Well, it depends, for the money, the H100 wont get you a whole lot. the cooling isnt that great as everyone makes it to be but it is still good. The price performance ratio is a bit off. With the Havik your temps will be higher but not by a lot. It just depends on how much money you are willing to spend.

havik is quieter

Look around for overclocking results using your mobo and processor and see what you can expect to get out of your system first. If you can only expect a 1Ghz improvement the Havik will still be sufficient and save you a chunk of change. If on the other hand you have a great combo for overclocking the H-100 will become needed at higher loads.

With the stock fans, but if youre not mentally disabled you will put different fans on the H100

Get the NZXT Kraken x60 instead - much better performance. Add 4x 140mm Corsair AF Quiet fans and that will be the best all-in-one CPU cooler you can get.
