i have downloaded bitcoin and guiminer but i don't know how to get guiminer to work.

Yeah, does guiminer open after you install it?
Does it get an error when trying to install?
Does it get an error when you press 'start mining'?
I have the guiminer and bitcoin wallet. When I click start mining on guiminer it says 'ValueError: need more than one value to unpack' I've tried to create a miner on the bitcoin page, but it just sits there and no miner is created apparently
try clearing your cache and then trying again.
