Grounding myself while building a computer

Im building a computer and I dont have an anti-static wrist band or mat, I've been told they're a waste of money. Has anyone got any tips on grounding/earthing myself while building but keeping safe?

If you move away from the computer, always touch the case or some metal before proceeding. Having an anti-static band is not needed.

Plug in your power supplie and touch the metal casing. That will remove the static electricity from your body. Stay away from dusty areas and high carpets. other than that you should be fine. I never have to ground my self out because i eliminate the possible places for a charge to build.

Im using the NZXT H440 and theres no unpainted parts does that matter?

As @Lord_Baldur said ground yourself before touching stuff, I've never used any antistatic device, never had a problem but your mileage may vary, always a good idea to be safe and protect your hardware.

If your psu is mounted just touch one of the mounting screws, most of the time paint isn't enough of a insulator to stop a static discharge.
