GPU required to run 1440p 144/120hz monitor

I'm building a PC, and would really like one of the upcoming freesync, 1440p, 144/120 hz monitors (Asus MG279Q, Acer XG270HU, BenQ L2730Z).
What GPU should I get to run CS:GO max at 100fps+ on one of these monitors.
Consequently, what CPU would you recommend to not bottleneck said GPU?

Please enlighten me with your superior knowledge,
Dan

CS:GO isn't a very demanding game as far a graphics go so you don't need something outstanding. A 970 or an R9 290X should cover it. Although their performance is not the same the R9 290X will give you more bang for your buck.

As far as CPUs go a 4690K should set you up nice, but if you want hyper-threading (for rendering and whatnot) go for the 4790K. You could go even cheaper, but both of these are really solid.

Yeah, A R9 270 or a gtx 760 would do that at over 100fps. Personally I would go with.

So you can get what you want in CS:GO but still play other games on ultra and high. But if you want to go awhile w/o having to trade up in cards then I would go with a R9 290.

Thanks for the reply, if I was to go with a R9 290, do you think it's worth getting the 290X as suggested above or not? It's about a £40 (~$60) difference here in the UK

the performance difference is very small you can get back the same performance by overclocking 290.
The question is whether you want few 1-5% more from card for few 60$ more. Still I recommend looking at PowerColor PCS+ AXR9 290 /290X they are cheaper than most cards and perform better than most (only msi top and sapphire 8gb perform better)

Mostly would have to do with what you plan on doing in the future, AMDs next gen cards are coming out this year and NVidias are supposed to come out in 2016. If you plan on not upgrading for years I would go with a 290x or wait for the next gen. But if you plan on upgrading to a new card next year I would just save the money.

For CS:GO specifically i would recommend the r9 280x to the 285 because it is nowhere near as demanding as games like crisis. and 20 you won't bottleneck the 8320 or 8350 are great bang for the buck with 8 cores, but if you are going for intel i would highly recommend the Core I5 4670k

i would indeed wait for the new 300 series aMD gpu´s.
idk which gpu you have right now?

As far as the cpu goes, a 4690k is basicly all you realy gonne need for a while.

8350 with 290 = 150-350 fps on Max settings + 8x AA @ 1080p, so I'm pretty confident you'll manage to hit monitor refresh cap with a 290 (non-x) on 1440p.
