GPU passthrough setup for both Linux and Windows gaming?

Hi guys,

I’m planning on experimenting with GPU pass through to stop having to deal with dual boot.
I currently have a 2070 installed on my system and a 960 from my previous build that I plan to reuse for this. I want to use looking glass so that I only use the windows VM to play games while my discord stays on the host and keeping some apps running like chrome. I also plan to play some games on Linux trough proton or else when it’s possible.

My questions are :

  • Can I put my 960 as the main gpu for my host while still having the option to use the 2070 for rendering when I play on linux ? (When the vm is not running of course)

  • Would it be possible through looking glass to use the same keyboard / mouse / usb sound card between the host and the vm when I’m playing. So that I have my discord audio coming from the host and the vm audio at the same time ?

The first is posible, and people have done it.

The second for the keyboard and mouse is definitely possible and is pretty easy. The sound should work, but there could be issues.
