Got a new prebuilt computer coming in the mail and I was woundering a few things

Hey all  I finally went ahead last week and ordered a new prebuilt because mostly I don't have the time to build one and I know its a lot cheaper to build my own etc etc but again  I don't have the time. Plus I calculated that I would only save around $100 or so I figured hey why not try this out and see what happens. Anyway now that its almost here I am trying to figure out what I should do first out of the box should I just reformat and reinstall windows or do something else?

Anyway here's the specs:

Processor: AMD FX-Series FX-8350(4.0GHz) (looks fine to me when compared to what I am using atm)

Cooler: Some sort of water cooler not sure what.

Motherboard: ASUS M5A97 LE (AMD 970 Chipset) Motherboard (looks alright I suspose)

Harddrive : 2TB SATA III 6.0Gb/s 7200RPM (looks fine to me compared to the 128 gb im using atm lol)

Graphics: AMD Radeon HD 7770 1GB (im going to wait for the 8000 series to come out next year problery get the top of the line then assuming the motherboard can support it. Plus when compared to my old desktop I had this graphics card is a huge stepup for me I think. Link here)

Ram: 16GB DDR3 1333 (problery cheap stuff but then again its 16gb its not like its 6 or 2 so I gucess its alright and at least its only taking up 2 slots and not 4)

Power supply: 600w xtreme zone might be 80+ not sure.

Windows 8

USB Keyboard, USB Mouse (alright I suspose)

Optical Drive: 24x DVD+-R/+-RW DUAL LAYER DRIVE (not sure what it is problery something cheap)

Case: Raidmax Vampire Full Tower ( I think the case is pretty good considering it costs $135.99 by itself)

Total cost in Cnd Dollars with shipping and tax : $1,177.44

Now after ordering it I went on a few websites posted it and a lot of people said to throw out that xtreme zone power supply as there is apparently a ton of people who had their computers go kaboom in less then a year. So I went ahead and did that I got the  CORSAIR CX600M 600W power supply.

I also mailed in the $20 rebate so that helps. The only thing I don't like is once I replace that power supply with this one it will more then likely void the warranty. Which means I guess if a part falls apart between now and a year im kinda have to replace it out of my own pocket.

Anyway besides that my only question is what parts would you replace over time? Also would it be a good idea to get an SSD now or wait for the prices to drop? Also anyone got any recommendations for an SSD? Furthermore what would you do if you were me when you get this comptuer would you reformat windows or do what Logan did here in this video? http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=FMGX6UnCASE

Appreciate the help from everyone.

The parts that you would most likely replace over time are the GPU and maybe RAM more frequently. The CPU, motherboard, PSU, and storage will typically last you a long time, depending on if you need more power, storage, or need to update your CPU which in turn, may or may not require you to get a new motherboard. I can say that the 8350 will last you a long time along with the PSU. As for the SSD's, it depends on whether you want them now or if you want to wait for things like Black Friday, Christmas sales, etc. Brand wise, my personal preference are Kingston, ADATA, and Samsung SSD's. But some research can help thin out the herd.

alright sounds good anything else besides that? What about what I have now would you recommend reformatting the harddrive and just reinstall windows?

No need to reinstall windows, unless you change something like the CPU.

GPU is sub-par, especially with coming games.  You'll need to upgrade that soon.

PSU: never skimp out on this stuff.  That PSU that comes with the computer doesn't look 80+B to me...

Otherwise it's not a bad build.  Building a computer only takes an hour and a half though, even for new people.  Maybe 2 hours if you wanted neat cabling.  But if you are really that busy, then I guess you have no choice.

Yea I plan on upgrading the GPU when the new 8000 series comes out and also the power supply im not keeping in there im replacing it with this one The funny part is even though I ordered the computer last Saturday and I ordered the power supply last Sunday the power supply arrived back last Tuesday and the computer won't be here for another 3-5 days... Anyway thanks for the advice.

... umm...

there will be no 8000 series cards... the Rx 200 series os the new cards, and they're out now.
