Gigabyte MZ72-HB0 doesn’t post, CPLD LED1 blinking, LED-BMC1 solid green.
IPMI doesn’t get IP address anymore.
Ways to try to fix?
Hello together, is there a method (such as a specific boot usb) to completely reflash everything when the main system doesn’t start up and IPMI doesn’t get an IP address anymore.
I wonder if it got bricked trying to reset to firmware defaults perhaps.
I am running 2 aftermarket Epyc 7763 - well, trying to run. Meaning can’t get much official support.
Trying to figure out what the problem is.
It could be the CPUs that caused then other problems, but I would have thought that IPMI would still work nevertheless.
The troubleshooting Workflows published by Gigabyte don’t seem to talk about LED codes.
Did you ever find a solution to this? I too am using an after market 3rd gen epyc and although I’m getting IPMI, the cpld-led is slowly blinking and it’s not posting. I changed absolutely nothing in my configuration (stopped working while I was away on vacation this past weekend)… didn’t move anything, change anything, etc.
This is wild, I’ve got the exact same problem. I’m breadboarding atm to figure out which component is causing the issue, but it’s most likely the CPU. I’ve been reading lots about these second-hand EPYC CPUs bought from China-based eBay resellers that are DOA (no wonder they are so cheap).
I bought everything in redundancy now:
PSU (2x)
RAM (16x)
Motherboard (2x)
CPU (3x CPUs/2x different models)
I am still waiting for the 3rd CPU and the 2nd PSU to arrive, after that I might have clarity which component is causing the MB not to POST.
You can use the ipmi feature to remote into the board even tho it doesn’t work and that might help you troubleshoot or see an error log. Do you see an IP for it on your local network?
Alright, I connected the board with my router over the board’s MLAN port, but the router’s DHCP server is not showing the device’s IP address. It only shows my phone and my laptop’s IP address. Seems like IPMI doesn’t work either.
