Ok. I run TechPowerUp GPUZ which shows 4096MB RAM, great. But when I run Video Memory Stress Test it only shows 3.3GB VRAM.
I'm seriously hoping that the 980 can access all 4GB VRAM. What do you think?
The whole reason for testing VRAM is i'm getting random crashes when playing GTA5. And the event viewer is flagging up errors to do with nVidia drivers at the time of the crash...
As far as i know a GTX980 can fully use the 4GB of vram over 256bit bus.
Yea, I think it's just the software reporting it incorrectly.
And so far the crashes in GTAV only happen when playing with Trevor? O.o
maybe its a driver issue, did you install the latest driver?
Yep latest nVidia driver installed, tested system RAM, vRAM, stressed the whole set up, benched it, wrenched it, with no errors.
So I'm gonna go with drivers or a bug in the game.
i'd say you lost some memory on the way.
