Yes I was very much missing the deep thought feeling and the entire teamwork aspect of Section 9 was missing. Some characters I cannot remember being called by name more than once, which is a huge shame. The way the team interacted, how that influenced situations and the approach to things was a really big part of the story and how it played out.
You could take different opinions away from things because you got the chance to see things from many different points of view, and that was sadly not even half attempted in the 2017 movie. It was just 3 characters and everything else was just support to move the story alone essentially, could have been said by anyone lines. Characters named for the sake of putting a name to a face, just to explain who said what to you friends later rather than being able to know who did what by the role in the story. Which is just sad.
