Getting Back into Pokemon

Hey guys,

I want to get back into the pokemon franchise, im 16 now and I havent been into pokemon since Pokemon Diamond when I was about 11.  I want to play the franchise again, infact I own both Pokemon White and Pokemon HG.  Help me!  Give me some insentive or reason to get back into the franchise, because I cannot do it myself.  Thank you all for your help.

The reason why i stopped playing pokemon was for all the fucked up new pokemons they came up with. get the older pokemon games and play those. My favourite is pokemon xd gale of darkness on the gamecube

I found it really started to get silly around the 8th and last badge (water) when the giant flying boat(avengers reference???) with the giant pissed off dragon that kept turning everything to ice. On top of that i played through most of it drunk.

start off with blue or red, then get yellow, then gold or silver then crystal, then emerald version

i stopped playing pokemon after red blue and yellow but if the games are still the same style (final fantasy 1-2) then they should be very fun!

Started on crystal > leaf > emerald > both diamond and pearl then I got bored and halfheartedly played white on the r4 last year, im thinking of getting back into pokemon too, ive played a few emulators. I cant find a gamecube emulator for XD and colosseum that works though so im on the verge of guying a gamecube. If you want something fun to go get a kanto or hoenn (Leaf/fire/emerald/ruby/sapphire) and download a map editor and play around with it a bit, i massively upgraded the starting town on leaf and added a few npc's, very good fun. You can mak your own pokemon too.

ah pokemon one the most awesome turn-based rpg's to date, well dude emulate as many title's possible do fire red/leaf green (skip blue and red) but play yellow and then so on.

@eevee047 have you tried dolphin emulator? it does gamecube and wii

Ive played all the GenI-IV games, although I have not beaten them all, but I want to get into pokemon black and white

Pokemon is another Nintendo series where the gameplay has evolved very slowly since the initial versions. I would assume your enthusiasm to play another Pokemon game is somewhat low, and considering what little Pokemon Black/White 1 and 2 offer in comparison to previous generations, I am doubtful you would wholesomely enjoy your experience playing them.

If you are of the competitive mindset, consider competitive pokemon matches. There are sites such as http://www.smogon.com/ which house lots of information on competitive tactics, pokemon tiering, and some basic information for beginners.

Otherwise, I wouldn't force myself to play Pokemon of all games.

well pokemon x and y are coming out in october which is pretty sweet from what ive seen which is only the reveal trailer so not much is kown but it looks like we are going to have a

  • fire psycic starter (finaly something that isn't fir fighting)

realy you could do all kind of stuff to make the single player more challanging or if you got some friends you could try breeding and do competitve battles with them. hope you find insperation to start playing again.

and as for my expereance i have been playing scince gen 1 i think at one time ive had all the gen one and 2 games dont know were they are now sadly got almost all the gen 3  exept leafgreen, got all gen 4 and five exept black and white 2.

they haven't been listening to the fans, they've been asking for this for years and suing every fan made mmo out of existance. i'd say its a good start in the right direction though.

i think black and white were a step in the right direction with the better storytelling. i think x and y might trump it but right now its all speculation and need to wait for more information is relased to have better understanding what will be changed and what will be added. also i hope it is easy to transfer pokemon from the previes generations because it would be bad if we couldn't just like from gen 2 to gen 3 terrable

indeed, its a huge grey area. but nintendos recent dlc fiasco (recent mario 3ds game) has me a little worried. however; this could go in any direction.
