Gaming Monitor Issue

I am not sure when it has the issue, but my monitor on reboot can be set to 240hz. After a day of use and go to bed I wake up to it being 144hz. I have to restart it to make 240hz accessible again. Then it works. I think it might be a long term sleep issue. I am on a clean install of windows 11. This was doing it on windows 10. But it seems to be a more recent issue of nvidia drivers breaking. I started noticing issues like my monitor not waking from sleep after updating the nvidia drivers.

Sometimes I have to manually unplug my monitor’s power to power cycle it. Not sure if it is the gpu or monitor, because it seems to fix on a system reboot. Or something else related to my system.

  • To resolve the issue, begin by reinstalling your NVIDIA drivers.
  • Use Display Driver Uninstaller (DDU) to completely remove any old versions before installing the latest drivers.
  • Next, check your power settings to ensure they aren’t affecting your monitor’s performance.
  • Review your Samsung G7 monitor settings for any options related to sleep mode or refresh rates that might be causing problems.
  • Finally, ensure that your motherboard’s BIOS is up to date to prevent display issues. Please let me know how it goes! Make it simple, , easy to understand

Sorry already fixed it. Was indeed driver issue. DDU did fix it. However other issues like monitor turning on an off at random is a issue.

I would try a new display cable. Display port can get funky sometimes and will act up. I’ve encountered this on my second display with my 7900XTX and after replacing the display port cable issue went away.

I will have to order a new one. I have hdmi but not 2.1. I have two displayport cables and one is long enough to reach my computer, the other is not.

Did a new cable fix it?

I cancelled my order.
