Games and Editing software on linux

I am a light gamer I play Fifa and battlefield 4. I also edit videos for my YouTube channel. I use Vegas pro 13 for that. I want to switch to Linux. Can you help me get the above Programmes to work on linux.

P.S I don't want to run Windows in a virtual machine.

If you've purchased a $400 Vegas license then I'd stick with Windows until it expires at least.

In your case I would dual boot until i found alternatives to these. EA games have no linux ports and playonlinux does not support these two. If you have a license for Vegas I would wait for it to expire and check for alternative that can do the job to your satisfaction for after that.

Yar har! The Pirates are here! You should probably keep in mind of those pesky little pirates. (You should know what I'm talking about)

I don't know what your talking about @Noburt. In that case i will stick with windows.

People can just pirate things, so, for all we know he pirated the program. I'm not saying that it is bad, I'm just saying that it does not mean that he payed the few hundred dollars for it.

@Noburt first off pirating is bad. i don't come from a family who steals things. I PAID FOR THE LICENCE.

Lighten up. He just made a joke. He did not try to insult you or anything.

Irrelevant to the subject but despite what people have told you, piracy is not theft, either practically or legally. It is Copyright Infringement. Completely different things. Whether you think it is good or bad is a matter of opinion, but we all have the obligation to use correct terms when talking about such serious matters.

On the actual subject you might want to try Lightworks as a replacement. The basic version is freeware. It has a windows port also so you can test it there first. You might want to do that until the Vegas license expires. If you learn how to use it it will be one less application you will need windows for and make the switch easier.

Plus the Lightworks pro license is significantly cheaper to buy.

Better just dual-boot Linux and Windows, it's the best option for gamers. Of course use your Vegas license, but there is some nice video editing software, most of it is simple enough just to put some stuff on YT, but if you want some more - there is previously mentioned Lightworks.

I did not know I'd upset you so much. I was simply implying that it is possible.

does parallels work om linux? if yes I could run vegas pro from that ryt.
