I just spotted this short note on Macworld:
If you own a 16-inch MacBook Pro, your power adapter just got its first-ever update
The key bit there is:
Before you ask, no, we have no idea what it does. But we do know it brings the version number to 1.4.73 and the build number to 10M5237.
I checked the System Report (Apple icon > About this Mac > System Report) to see if my PSU had updated but apparently not.

I own an M2-era Apple Macbook pro with official Apple 140W USB-C charger. All is fine with that combo BUT I have noticed this model of PSU emit an electric flash a lot more when inserted into a UK power socket (with or without load attached).
Doesn’t trip anything but I finally got some time to start digging…
