Title says it all pretty much. Just looking for a little advice and any help is much appreciated.
Can't comment on the Func HS-260, but I have a set of K240s (classic from ~1 year ago) and they are amazing. If you like a lot of bass you will not like the AKG sound signature. Bass is there, but it is not pronounced. They are very neutral sounding. The highs are very clear without hurting my ears on the esses like some headphones will do. I really like them but if you like a lot of bass you may want to look for something different.
I watched some reviews on the Akg K 240s after I posted this and I think I will enjoy them. I have a sound card with an amp (a cheap Asus one) but I think that will help some with them. I am really just entering into the caring about sound part of my life I suppose. They were the same price as the HS-260 so I don't think I could pass them up. I went ahead and ordered the K240s and I am excited. Should be quite the upgrade from my Siberia V2s. Thank you very much for responding and letting me know what you thought.
They definitely shine a bit more with an amp, but they actually drive fairly well from my smartphones (OG Droid Incredible and HTC Rezound), so the asus sound card should be more than enough.
The K240s were my first "audiophile grade" headphones as well and really opened up my eyes to what a good pair of cans can do. Very lightweight and comfortable as well so you can wear them for extended periods.
These are pretty good for under $100

Thank you Brent. Those do look very nice. I ended up going with the K240s and happy I did. They just arrived a couple of hours ago. I have them hooked up to my 2nd computer to replace Krakens. Way better. The first thing I noticed is how comfortable they are. I love the sound. It is very even and I assume that is layman for flat. The clean bass is great. I will try them out on my main later. That is the computer with the Asus soundcard with an amp. I am excited to try them on there. Thank you again for all your help.
Update: They seem really good for some of my music. Heavenly almost. I am hearing parts I never have heard before and it is mind blowing. That being said some of my music seems lack luster. Is it common to have different headphones for your different music?
yes It's common, but I usually just save up and get one really good one instead of multiple different ones.
Hmmm ok thank you. I will have to do some research on a good pair. I think I have the bug and the K240s are a good spot to start. I feel like I have been missing out my whole life lol.
