Hi. So you remember a few releases back how they messed up samba sharing? Well with the U4 update everything is in order except windows doesn’t work. I get the usual “Windows cannot access \ZFSFREENAS”
Anybody had that and fixed? any suggestions?

I’ll check and make sure mine is on U4 but mine works. Well I have mine as a mapped drive on Windows not sure if that makes a difference for you.
Aha… Could you try to access it over the network tab in explorer (file manager). Or like writing “\\ip-of-samba-server” into explorer.
What version of Windows are you running?
Yes I am on u4 and can access through IP address in explorer
I sometimes get this trying to access a samba share on a freenas box, but the mapped “drive” still works.
For me the problem seemed to be Windows marking my second (technically fourth) nic/connection as “public” even though I set it to be always/ permanently private through regedit.
Win 10 anniversary.
