Shop around, interestingly I can get their 512gb wd black pcie ssd cheaper on Amazon at no discount.

Might be regional pricing. In the USA the black is almost $40 cheaper using the coupon.
When I looked last week one could still get HGST and/or Toshiba drives at retail for cheaper than WD drives with the discount, but if one needs enterprise drives and/or the better warranty on some WD drives it might be worth it for them.
