Fixing lcd scratch

Is it even possible?

I accidentally made a long scratch on a relatively new Asus monitor, I tried polishing but seems its too deep to polish.
Any compound that might cover the scratch? So far I tried solder flux, epoxy resin, toothpaste and shampoo.

Nope no way to fix a scratch like that in a plastic screen. you can buy another identical monitor on ebay that fried but has a good lcd on it.

I think it would be cheaper to sell it for half a price and buy brand new one than to import a broken monitor.
If anyone even sells such, since its still new.

U can. Even better, plastic is soft and easy to work with.

Depending on the depth of the scratch it might be faster to first grind it out with some fine sandpaper, and polish with the goo(s) afterwards.

Found that on ebay, shipping is 35$ tho. I called local store asking for such stuff, they say its a hopeless situation, and they don't stock such things anyway.
When I tried polishing i removed good part of the top layer, now i have a smooth bit that stands out making things even worse, but the scratch is just too deep, I would say 10um deep.

Steel wool works too and usually can be found in any kitchen, not the first tool to think of, but you can polish plastic really well with it. Just remember to spit before you polish lol.
Oh and to hide the very finest of scratches spray some silicone on the plastic and it's as good as new.

If your monitor has a glossy finish, this could work.

You could just RMA it if it's still under warranty. Otherwise, just remove the gloss layer and go matte.

I already sent it for warranty because it had nasty backlight bleeding, and i was without a monitor for a month, I got a new one but this one had white balance wrong which i adjusted with catalist. I would like to avoid sending it away, besides does warranty cover user imposed damage?

The manufacturer and/or retailer only warrants the funtionality of the device, but if you have a separate content insurance for your stuff at home then that could cover it.
