First HTPC Build

First of all, wanted to say thanks to @SpaceCat @VXAce @Streetguru and @Garfield for responding to my original post in the Build a PC forum.

Originally planned on making and AMD APU build with an A10-7850k but after I saw Streetguru's recommendation for a non APU build X4 860K build it got me thinking about builds without an APU. I played around with the idea and eventually went with an Intel build since I figured potential to upgrade would be better. I was also impressed by the videos on youtube for the Pentium G3258/750TI combo.

I looked at Silverstone cases at @Garfield 's suggestion and went with the SG05

Also, I ending up butchering an old 1TB Western Digital external drive and threw it in to supplement the SSD.

So here is the link to the parts list: http://pcpartpicker.com/p/VTnQHx

Pulled the trigger, made the order and got everything in about four days.

It has arrived!

Pre Build

And complete....
It has been about 12 years since I built a PC and I have to say it was a ton of fun. I'll have to try and overclock it in a few weeks when work slows down. In the meantime I'm going to just enjoy playing games at whatever settings work best. Also I'll dig my old rig out of the attic and post pictures in a couple days. Thanks again guys.

You won't regret it. :D

A much better board than I have, so you should get a better OC out of it, provided cooling is sufficient.

vote for shortest build log ever.
