First gaming pc

So i am building my first pc and i am no expert in pc parts so if anyone can take a look in the parts i have chosen and maybe choose better parts.

Here is the list:

  • GeForce GTX 780 3GB GDDR5 Graphics Card
  • MSI Z87-GD65-GAMING ATX Motherboard
  • Intel Core i5 4670K Quad Core Retail CPU
  • Corsair Vengeance 8GB (2x4GB) DDR3 1600Mhz RAM
  • Corsair RM 550W PSU
  • Cooler Master HAF X Case
  • Thermaltake Frio CPU Cooler
  • Seagate Barracuda 3.5 inch 2TB 7200RPM
  • Samsung 840 Series Pro 128GB 2.5 inch SSD
  • Windows 8.1 (Full Version)

And here are some stupid questions:

  1. Is 550W enough?
  2. Is everything compatible?
  3. Does this motherboard have a wifi adapter? I didn't find any information on that so im quessing it doesn't have.
  4. If this motherboard doesn't have wifi, i would need a wifi adapter. Internal or external does not matter. Can you recommend me a good wifi adapter, i have 10mb/s wifi.
  5. Do i need any previous OS for 8.1? I am buying http://www.amazon.co.uk/gp/product/B00FRAE7MU/ref=ox_sc_act_title_1?ie=UTF8&psc=1&smid=A3P5ROKL5A1OLE
  6. Do i need to buy thermal paste or does it come with some part?
  7. If i do will this be good? http://www.amazon.co.uk/Arctic-Cooling-MX-4-Thermal-Compound/dp/B0045JCFLY/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1383320272&sr=8-1&keywords=Thermal+paste
  8. Are these parts good?

I will be ordering everything from amazon.co.uk because i live in Finland.

Thank you.

1) if you used pcpartpicker.com can you post the link? otherwise, it's a pretty good pc.

http://pcpartpicker.com/p/1VVQ9 I could not find the CPU cooler on pcpartpicker so i left it out.

Get a 290X or a 780ti or TITAN. Wait a week!!!

550w psu is kinda low, personally I would go with a 650w psu

Agreed, you should probably get at least a 650w PSU.  550w may work, but that's pushing it.

Don't get the 290x, it's too hot, too loud, it takes a 30% performance hit after extended gameplay, and it's more expensive than the 780.  Honestly, until AMD allows aftermarket coolers on the 290X, the card is a complete joke.

I'd probably not recommend the 780 Ti.  $700 is a pretty high price, and I doubt it'll be that much faster than the standard 780.  As for the TITAN, don't get it!  $1000 is just stupid when you consider that the 780 and 290X perform almost the same (sometimes better) for half the price.

The only change I would make to this build is the power supply.  Get at least a 650W PSU, preferably 80 Plus Gold, to give you extra headroom and some room to overclock.  Other than that, the build is good.  Keep the 780 now that it's $500.
