First gaming PC build

I have an old pre-built system right now. I put together this build: http://pcpartpicker.com/p/2csW7 .The board is suspiciously cheap but it supports crossfire/SLI and is good at overclocking according to a couple of reviews on newegg. I'm not really interested in spreading my budget on an ssd, I u sally put my PC in sleep mode anyway. I want the PC to be as quiet as can be as I hope to take it to college next year I was thinking about an Matx build but there just aren't any great motherboards with Am3+. I figure if they recommend bringing a mini-fridge a desktop is alright?

TBH I'm a little nervous about building a pc. I appreciate you input.

Are you set on an AMD build or would you be willing to go intel? Also I assume that you are around a $1000 budget due to yours being slightly under it.

Intel build GPU is a triple slot card so it will take some room, but it is a GTX 680 and runs very cool so I figured it would be a good card. Also, building a computer is not that hard. If you know how to follow an instruction manual then you will be golden, but a couple youtube videos doesn't hurt.
