First Build. Need recommendations/input. (High end computer)

I've selected parts for my first PC build and was wondering if someone could help maybe change some parts/ choose cheaper better ones. Here is the link http://pcpartpicker.com/p/mEUk

Thanks!

Get a better CPU Cooler if you want to overclock, the NH-D14 is amazing but you might not like the look, else there is the H100 or H100i.
I recommend the 7970 instead of the 680, much better when OCed.

I really did think about getting the H100 but decided I probably won't overclock. I really don't believe I would need to either. And I wanted to go with Nvidia this build because I have never used a Nvidia card. If I don't like it, oh well. Thanks for the recommendations though.

MOR RAM Like 16 gb or something, Ripjaws are always great but Corsair is another good choice, also the choice in ssd is confusing me.

I plan on upgrading to 16 GB of RAM later. For now, 8 is enough. And what do you mean the choice in SSD is confusing? Like the brand, why am I getting it at all?

What are you gonna be using this for? If your just gonna be gaming, a 3570K is more than enough while saving you a lot of cash. And a 7970 is better IMO. Better perf. and bang for buck. Maybe you shouldn't drop out of the bandwagon now. Also, if your not gonna be overclocking, then don't get an unlocked CPU and an aftermarket cooler, waste of money. But seriously, consider overclocking. You could get a big perf. boost with that. The Hyper 212 is probably enough if you do plan on overclocking.

Do you really need a Blu-Ray player or a sound card, OR an SSD? Especially if it's just 120GB( don't you think it's a tad bit overpriced. Maybe you could find one at that price point with 256GB). And the PSU is way overpriced IMO. You could find a 750w 80+ bronze PSU for less these days. Another overpriced thing: the freakin RAM. For that price you buy a 16GB kit. Seriously.

Cheers,

Z

actually the 212 is only good for anything AMD and intel prior to 1156

for hot stuff like Ivy use a cooler master TPC 812, with the cosair SP120 perf. fans it goes neck and neck with the H100 and its AIR cooling, 20 bucks cheaper and quieter

or get a noctura NH-D`4 or thermaright silver arrow, be warned tho, they are BIG (double tower)

Yeah, recommend the Noctua NH-D14. I forgot to add it in too.

the TPC 812 is within a few degrees of the NH-D14, smaller and 30 bucks cheaper, you can get a $20 set of SP120 perf. fans to make it perform better and still cheaper and smaller
