Finally was able to order a 6800, am I all set for Manjaro support?

Finally was able to order an RX 6800, it should be delivered sometime next week. I want to make sure it’s plug and play when it gets here.

It looks like Manjaro has all the recent packages and firmware I need for it to work in the most update, unless I’m missing something? I was really hoping to avoid the linux-firmware-git package and it looks like I should be good on Manjaro Stable.

  1. Kernel: 5.9.1
  2. Mesa is 20.2
  3. llvm is 11.0.0-1
  4. Linux-firmware is 20201124.r1786.b362fd4-1
According to this: https://git.kernel.org/pub/scm/linux/kernel/git/firmware/linux-firmware.git - that Linux-firmware package includes:

Am I missing something here? It looks like I don’t need the AUR linux-firmware-git package.

Seems legit. Wont know until you plug it in. If you have an NV card currently or have amdgpu blacklisted, you will need to uninstall/whitelist the correct driver

Also double check xorg.conf and /xorg.conf.d

xorg.conf.d and 20-amdgpu.conf is required to enable Freesync support
