Finally Dark YouTube in Firefox without 3rd party extensions

When I opened the YouTube site today i was greeted with an information that the new UI is available.

Previously I had to use Chrome to enable native dark mode or use 3rd party extensions.
This change is great for me personally and I just wanted to share my excitement xD

Thank you  I didn’t know there was native dark theme at all… Now I do. I really thought it was some extension or something

Finally, now we just need the rest of the internet to do the same.

Dark Reader is the best I’ve found so far. Seems to work well with the majority of sites. https://darkreader.org/

And then there’s shadowfox, which does a good job of stopping Firefox from flash banging your eyes itself. https://overdodactyl.github.io/ShadowFox/

Didn’t know about Shadowfox! Thank you for sharing

I’ve been using Youtube native dark mode with Firefox for probably over a year now.

How come? Did you spoof the site to think you’re on chromium?

The feature has been around a long time, and isn’t browser-specific.

No, I don’t really recall what I did originally but I’ve been using it since it was announced in 2018 iirc.
