FBI looking for Wolverine Leaker

The other day I read about a VERY early release of the new movie X-Men Origins, Wolverine. I was surprised it was out as this new movie is not set to be released until next month sometime. Now just to be sure I checked to see if it had an early release date for the EU, but found that the dates are pretty much the same for the EU as for here in the US.

Intrigued I looked into the copy and found that it is a very early work print. In fact there are scenes where the CGI has not been skinned and even one that I saw where the harness had not been edited out. Now just to be clear I have not downloaded the film, I went looking for images and found a couple that were pretty funny.

20th Century Fox does not find this funny at all and has put in a call to the FBI to help find the person responsible for releasing this. According to CNet the FBI and Fox are pretty confident that they will be able to find this person due to Digital Water Marks embedded in the film.

At the time of writing there are no suspects in this case
However, studio representatives told news agency Reuters because of forensic marks, the authorities would be able to trace "the source of the leak."
Studios embed identification marks on prints and film copies and that's how authorities tracked down Kerry Gonzalez, the New Jersey man who leaked the superhero film "Hulk" to the Web weeks before its theatrical release. Gonzalez was caught and pleaded guilty to felony copyright infringement charges. He was sentenced to six months house arrest and ordered to pay a $7,000 fine.

Gonzalez is an example of how hard it is for studios to protect their multimillion-dollar products, according to a film industry insider. Gonzalez had nothing to do with the movie business. He told FBI agents that he obtained a videotape copy of the film print from a friend who worked at an advertising agency connected with the movie.

wud u stop wif thi shittey raz thu wurld riting on ol ur imig posts, fukin annoyin

Dude, chill with the copy and pasting. Why dont you give your own opinion on the situation. And if you absolutely have to copy and past, give the source.

it's bob saget's fault.

its my fault, i did it

Why the fuck are y'all always fucking beating on 8bit? For fucks sakes shut the fuck up faggots.. honestly no one is forcing you to read this shit because it was you who clicked the fucking title.

Thanks 8bit, I for one enjoy the articles you post.

And all you raging faggots fuck off cause you're pissing me off.

8bit is a FAGGOT.

jk, I actually like reading this stuff, but you need to post it in the blog section, don't copy and paste the whole thing, and give a source.

If he posts in the blog it would be plagiarism. lol

First, on the topic at hand.

If the film has CGI that hasn't even been skinned, then that would probably give someone the incentive to go see the film to see how well of a job they did on the special effects, I imagine? Or one would even stop the film and delete it after seeing that it is quite unfinished, perhaps? Overall, I don't see anything wrong with persecution the person(s) responsible for the leak. I do see something wrong with how much the movie looks like shit, though.

Now, my reply to this whole mess between this comment and 8-bit's starting post. Warning: Rather long, boring, and possibly offensive(however unintentional)!

This is all getting rather annoying. I don't see anything wrong with 8-bit, his heart's in the right place, hasn't complained at all that I've seen. I appreciate your company, sir.

However, I do agree with the anti-copy/paste flack. The thing about RazeTheWorld is(from my understanding), it's supposed to be a site for technophiles and gamers(and almost everything else) to give their honest individual opinions on news articles pertaining to said topics. One should speak as if they were posting on their own personal blog, or, as if they are being interviewed. That's the appeal of RazeTheWorld, and that's what makes it unique and valuable.

Now this brings to mind the question; does RazeTheWorld accomplish this task? Lately, no. This is, at the core, due to two understandable, albeit troublesome reasons. The first is, Logan, Wayne, Nate, Herman, Drophaters and Frank(I think) are all in balancing act with their personal lives/careers, building the re-design of the site, and making sure the site as it is right now stays alive and fresh, the latter being put on Logan's shoulders for the most part and as a result, limiting the amount of time needed to assess each post for main-page worthy material. The second reason is, most of us aren't really contributing to the community that much in the way one would like, due mainly to the low amounts of interesting news usually to be expected in Late Winter-Spring months, but possibly also a lack of confidence in one's self to be able to deliver an opinion that isn't boring as dried shit, and the awkwardness of blogging in a forum. And hey, I know that I, a member of the site since it's first month, am every bit as guilty of this.

Without the other members besides occasionally Weeman and Skump to post, the only person following the format consistently is Logan. The problem here is, it just seems that most, if not all of us, are just here to read what Logan thinks. And I'm sure he himself is not very pleased about that, since his vision for the site sounds like one where YOU are right up there with him. It's no secret that every member here joined because of one of the most awesome individuals on the planet, but this is not LogansOfficialFanclub.com. I say again, this is RazeTheWorld, a site, to my understanding, about technology, entertainment, politics, and above all, the collected opinions of all the members regarding said topics.

I'm not complaining that Logan is pretty much "ruling the site with an iron fist", I feel bad for him being the only one who's really sticking to the format he wants everyone to follow and have fun with. I love reading what he has to say as much as everyone else and I want to read more, but people need to stop waiting for someone else to say something first, writing them off if this someone isn't Logan, and start growing the balls to risk writing something as boring as this to get a point across. At least you'll be having fun.

Again, 8-bit, I'm sorry for all the bullshit you've been given with your stay here. Just please, enjoy the site to it's fullest and just tell us your own initial thoughts about future topics.

/end rant, preach, ramble, apology, whatever you'd call this

Edited for typos.

everyone will have a blog on the new site...

this kind of a post will go there... and it should be your paragraph or two opinion about it with a link to the article... then you can link to your blog in the forum so people can all talk about it...

if your blog is good it will make it to the main page!

also, 8bit... make sure you link back to the article.. and when you tag, use commas instead of spaces.

i would enjoy reading his articles more if they were just short summaries and his opinions of the matter, with the link to where he got it from. that's all he really needs to do.. or at least rewrite it yourself entirely, but still putting down the source, which is what i did on my cousin's little blog site for a couple months.

Put in a freaking sourcelink next time, or lock/delete.

I liked the movie, with all the unfinished CGI parts. Kind of reminded me of the old spiderman movies where the guy was just filmed on the sidewalk and meant to be climbing up a building. It added a crummy charm.

Did anyone notice how close the whole weapon-x lab place looked to the comic version? how awesome was that?
